Teen Choice Award 2012 adalah acara yang disiarkan secara langsung oleh saluran FOX dari Gibson Amphitheatre di Los Angeles, Minggu (22/07) waktu setempat ini bakal dimeriahkan oleh penampilan spesial dari Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen, Flo Rida, No Doubt and DJ Pauly D.
THE Hunger Games, Taylor Swift, dan One Direction menjadi yang terbaik di Teen Choice Awards 2012. Film The Hunger Games menjadi yang terbaik dengan menggondol tujuh penghargaan.
Sementara Swift menyabet lima penghargaan termasuk kategori, 'Choice Country Song' dan 'Choice Movie Voice' untuk film The Lorax. Ia pun berterima kasih kepada pemain dan kru The Lorax dan The Hunger Games yang merekam dua lagu miliknya.
One Direction pun tak mau ketinggalan. Boysband remaja itu mendapatkan tiga penghargaan yakni 'Choice Summer Music Star Group', 'Choice Music Breakout Group' dan 'Choice Love Song'.
Mereka pun mengucapkan terima kasih untuk para fans langsung melalui sebuah video dari Inggris. Mereka tidak dapat menerima hadiah karena saat ini sedang sibuk rekaman materi barunya.
Adapun Justin Bieber membawa pulang empat yakni 'Choice Male Artist', 'Choice Male Music Star of the Summer', 'Choice Male Fashion Icon' dan 'Choice Single by a Male Artist'.
The Twilight Saga juga mendapat kehormatan dengan penghargaan bergengsi 'Ultimate Choice Award'. Bintang utama film Kristen Stewart dan Robert Pattinson yang menerima papan selancar sebagai simbol penghargaan langsung melemparnya ke arah penonton.
Sementara itu, The Vampire Diaries juga memenangkan lima penghargaan, 'Choice TV Show: Sci-Fi/Fantasy', 'Choice TV Actress' and 'Choice TV Actor' untuk Nina Dobrev dan Ian Somerhalder.
Ian Somerhalder pun diganjar dengan pernghargaan 'Choice Male Hottie'. Sedangkan 'Choice Female Hottie' diberikan kepada Miley Cyrus.
